Product Overview

The Wilson Blade Smart GRUUV V2 Paddle features a slightly larger head size than Blade paddles of the past, to meet the needs of more players. Now the same surface area as the Steam family of paddles, but with a traditional round shape, this new size will increase forgiveness at ball contact, resulting in more impactful shots in the event you connect just a bit off center.

The Blade SMART is unique by design as it has an "Oreo Cookie" type core design, with the outer eva foam layers nearest the face (think the cookie part) being softer for touch shots and the inner most core (think the frosting) being firmer density for more power on harder drive shots. Thus the name "Smart Density". This type of core provides a just-right response based on the speed with which it meets the ball.

For players seeking the original, smaller head size Blade paddle, shop our limited remaining stock of the original Blade Gruuv (non V2) on our site. Players best suited to a small head are those coming from table tennis, or those who prefer less bulk and more racquet head speed for their on court advantage.

To sum it up: The Wilson Blade Smart Paddle is geared toward any player who wants a mid weight paddle with a balanced blend of power and control

Of all the Blade paddles, this one is the most adaptable to a variety of player levels and styles.

    Feel and control

Posted by Scott on 13th Nov 2024

I had a different brand paddle that has been abused. Was looking for a change and my wife uses Wilson’s. Purchased this a few weeks ago. The response and feel on this paddle are incredible. When I first practiced with it, I was shocked at the difference. The head is a bit smaller but I haven’t noticed during matches. I did request a larger handle grip and that has worked out nicely. The paddle is a tad bit heavier than my other one and they is a bit head heavy. I like it a lot. I would recommend anyone to give this a try.

    Very spinny

I got this because I like to hit with spin and I don't like clunky paddles with big heads. Works great and hits plenty hard with spin when I want to. Got it fast and with a one size bigger grip for my hand and that was very well done.

    Fantastic Paddle

I had the version prior to this Blade Smart and it was great for my game. This one is just as good, if not better. I'm a 4.5 player and it does everything I need to do, with a lot of spin. Just grabbed a backup on this sale.
