The Master Athletics Tuning Kit is designed to easily allow players to tune Master's “EDGE” PLATFORM TENNIS paddles with up to 20 grams of weight or change the feel at impace by adding vibration dampening silicone. This kit is a "do it yourself" solution to making your paddle truly your own!
Self-adhesive strips are easily placed into the channels along the paddle's rim at desired locations, depending on the feel you seek. If you change your mind, you can simply remove (or move) the strips to restore the paddle to its original design.
BRS Top Tips: Remember, make sure to match the installation on one side with the exact installation on the opposite side! Also, for any other platform tennis paddles (non-EDGE) models, we recommend our half inch wide, adhesive backed lead tape that can be laid onto any paddle's bumper for the same purpose.
The Master Athletics Platform Tennis Paddle Tuning Kit Includes:
2 Vibration Dampening strips weighing 2 grams each
4 Weighting strips weighing 5 grams each
Note that all strips will need to be trimmed 1cm to fit Master Athletic “S1” and “S2” paddles
Weighting Instructions:
Paddles can be weighted up to an additional 20 grams by using all 4 strips. To customize and rebalance, the weighted strips can be placed lower on the head for a head light feel (ensuring ease of swing), or toward the top of the paddle for a more head-heavy feel (more effort to swing, but added mass at impact).* If you wish to maintain the balance but have an overall heavier and more stable feel, there is a balance point marked inside the depressed channgel (EDGE) of the paddle upon which you will center your weight.
Vibration Dampening Instructions:
The recommended installation is to use a full strip on each side of the paddle head.
Combination Weighting and Dampening Instructions:
If only one weighting strip is used, the Vibration Dampening Strip can be cut to fill any additional space in the EDGE.
