A couple of things give the Master Athletics M2 Edge a slightly more lively response at impact than the M1. One is a bit higher swing weight and the other is the unique hybrid core made of rubber and eva foam. This one sounds and feels different at impact, offering a pleasing "pop" that lets you know you've made a sweet connection!
Many Players enjoy Master Athletics paddles for the extra rough Pro Grit in the center of the paddle where you need it most with a slightly finer M30 Grit around the edges where you dont make contact as often.
The tapered "Stability Zone" with advanced Carbon Matrix adds more stiffness and strength to the throat area and a grit free area directly above the handle provides extra comfort during grip changes or on two-handed shots.

The EDGE Tuning Kit (sold separately), allows the option of applying either weighted or dampening strips to a depressed ridge on the "Edge" of the paddle, giving you ultimate flexibility to customize your game. This allows you to make your paddle heavier and more stable, or more dampened, to reduce vibrations and provide a smoother feel.
