The Viking Shield C40 replaces the Re-Ignite Pro Valknut & features a new technology and new colorway!
As with all of the brand new (Weapon named) Viking platform tennis paddles, there is a new Concentric Hole Pattern with a combination of smaller and larger hole sizes to maximize feel and spin. The Dual Grit Surface features a larger particulate in the center of the paddle for de-icing where you need it most, and finer grit toward the outer paddle to ensure bite and spin from the paddle's holes.
What are the Viking Shield Platform Tennis Paddles known for?
The three 2024/25 Viking Shield paddles are each 92 square inches in size, making them the largest head size offered by Viking and keeping with the size of the Re-Ignite models of the past. This makes them easier to connect with overall, and expands the sweet spot to potentially result in more winning shots!
Viking incorporated woven carbon fiber around the entire throat for added shock reduction and stability making this model feel as great as it plays! Viking's CFS2 "Carbon Fiber Stability System" technology promises an optimal blend of control, power, maneuverability, and whippy feel for enhanced paddle head speed. The CFS2 softens the response at impact and stability and maneuverability coexist seamlessly. With CFS2, a Carbon fiber weave wraps the entire throat of the paddle, giving it added stability and increased shock reduction without adding any weight.

Shield C22 (formerly Prodigy) - lightest with a low density core - easiest to swing and most control
Shield C30 (formerly Lite) - midweight with a medium density core - blend of power and control
Shield C40 (formerly Pro) - heaviest with a mid+, firmer density core - most power, firmest feel
