The Master Athletics S1+ Edge features a smaller than standard, 4 inch grip circumference, and a mid sized head for a considerably head light balance. These two design elements make it a popular choice with both junior and women players with smaller hands who want a paddle that is easy to hold and swing with ease. The longer, more tapered throat design is nice for players with a two-handed backhand, or those who like to choke up on the grip.
At just 345 grams, this lightweight paddle will have you creating easy head speed with less effort. Despite the light, 345 gram weight, a bit of head heavy balance ensures stability throughout the swing and at contact. And remember, should your you desire more weight down the road in your platform tennis career, simply use the Edge Tuning Kit to customize it to your specific needs (see below).
Many Players enjoy Master Athletics paddles for the extra rough Pro Grit in the center of the paddle where you need it most with a slightly finer M30 Grit around the edges where you dont make contact as often.

The EDGE Tuning Kit (sold separately), allows the option of applying either weighted or dampening strips to a depressed ridge on the "Edge" of the paddle, giving you ultimate flexibility to customize your game. This allows you to make your paddle heavier and more stable, or more dampened, to reduce vibrations and provide a smoother feel.
